H.M.S. Heliotrope was one of twelve Azalea Class sweeping sloops completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Paid off 15 December, 1920, part of the Reserve Fleet in Portsmouth.[6]

After six yeras in reserve, she was commissioned on 15 December, 1926 for service on the America and West Indies Station.[7]
