H.M.S. Duchess was one of fourteen "C" and "D" Class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Re-commissioned at Chatham on 30 March, 1933 for service with the First Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[3]

Re-commissioned on 11 December, 1935 for service with the Eighth Destroyer Flotilla, operating on the China Station.[4]
