Service
At the Battle of Jutland, she screened the First Battle Cruiser Squadron as the flotilla cruiser for the Thirteenth Destroyer Flotilla. leading twelve destroyers.[7][8]
At the end of 1920, she was at reduced complement.[9]
Alterations
Champion was fitted with a director in January, 1918. This alteration required her pole mast to be replaced with a tripod mast for greater rigidity.[10]
At some point likely after the end of the war, she received a Dreyer Turret Control Table in her TS.[11]
