H.M.S. C 16 (1908)
Pendant Number: I.46 (1914)
C.16 (mid 1915)[1]
Builder: Vickers[2]
Launched: 19 Mar, 1908[3]
Sold: Aug, 1922[4]
H.M.S. C 16 was one of thirty-eight "C" class coastal submarines completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

C 16 was rammed and sunk twice by accident, both times being raised and put back into service. On 14 July, 1909, C 17 collided with her. On 16 April, 1917, Melampus sank the sub again, killing all on board despite efforts to escape from the sunken hulk.
