H.M.S. C 15 (1908)
Pendant Number: I.45 (1914)
C.15 (mid 1915)[1]
Builder: Vickers[2]
Launched: 21 Jan, 1908[3]
Sold: Feb, 1922[4]
H.M.S. C 15 was one of 38 submarines of the "C" class.

Service

While operating in the eastern English Channel with Fifth Submarine Flotilla (part of the Dover Patrol),[5] C 15 sank the homeward-bound UC 65 in a submerged attack on 3 November, 1917 at 50deg 28' N., 0deg 17' E.. The German commander had noted C 15's periscope a half-hour earlier, but failed to take evasive action, seemingly confident his speed would not permit a successful attack.[6][7]
