H.M.S. B 5 (1905)
Pendant Number: I.25 (1914)
B.5 (mid 1915)[1]
Builder: Vickers[2]
Launched: 14 Nov, 1905[3]
Sold: Aug, 1921[4]
H.M.S. B 5 was one of eleven "B" class coastal submarines completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Radio

In 1912, B 5 became the first British submarine fitted with a wireless kit. Although then described as being the "final design", it may have been what was later redesignated as a "Type 10". The "Type 11" design for submarines would not be conceived before 1914.[5]
