Service

In February, 1888, she was flagship on the China Station, bearing the Commander-in-Chief, Vice-Admiral Sir Nowell Salmon.[7]

Audacious participated in the Annual Manoeuvres of 1890 under the command of Captain Arthur C. H. Paget as part of the Hostile Fleet tasked with threatening British trade routes.[8]

She was renamed Imperieuse in 1914, at which time she was serving as a repair ship.
