George Vincent Wallace Carey (9 March, 1876 – 29 November, 1935) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career
Carey spoke some Spanish, having been born in Spain.
Carey was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1897.
Carey was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1909.[1]
Commodore Eyres wrote in July, 1912 that Carey was a good officer, but he did not recommend him "on acct of deafness."
Post-War
Carey was retired as medically unfit due to "gun deafness" with the rank of Captain on 29 March, 1921. His effort to obtain increased compensation for his disability was refused.
