Vice-Admiral SIR George Thomas Carlisle Parker Swabey, K.B.E., C.B., D.S.O., Royal Navy, Retired (22 January, 1881 – 9 February, 1952) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Bedfordshire, Swabey gained twelve months' time on passing out of Britannia.[1]

Swabey was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 July, 1901 and was awarded that year's Ryder Memorial Prize for his strong French language test score.[2]

Swabey was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1913.[3]

Swabey was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1918.[4]

Post-War

Swabey was appointed command of the battleship Revenge on 15 April, 1919.[5]

Swabey was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 6 October, 1929 and placed on the Retired List othe following day. He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 16 January, 1935.[6]
