Commander (emergency list) George Sarsfield Walsh (25 August, 1859 – 31 March, 1939) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Walsh resigned his commission on 14 May, 1891.

He was placed on the Emergency List with his commission restored in 1902 and designated a Commander on 11 July, 1905.

Walsh was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 11 July 1882.

Walsh was appointed in command of the submarine A 9 on 20 February, 1914.[1] I have my suspicions that this was a clerical error of some kind.

On 21 January, 1915 Walsh was appointed to Eagle, additional, for service on the staff of R/A Stileman for duties in connection with armed yachts, trawlers and drifters of the Auxiliary Patrol.
