Admiral George Morris Henderson, M.V.O., Royal Navy, Retired (12 August, 1851 – 16 January, 1915) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Henderson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 22 December, 1874.[1]

Henderson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1887.[2]

Henderson was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1894.[3]

He was appointed in command of the second class protected cruiser Sirius dated 9 November, 1897.[4]

On the occasion of the King's visit to Malta Henderson was appointed a Member of the Fourth Class of the Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) on 27 April, 1903.[5]

Henderson was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 22 July, 1905, vice Reginald Henderson.[6] In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 8 December, 1903, he was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 5 November, 1908.[7]

He was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 30 April, 1910,[8] and to Admiral on the Retired List on 3 June, 1913.[9]
