Admiral Frederick Samuel Vander-Meulen, J.P., Royal Navy, Retired (20 November, 1839 – 13 February, 1913) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 5 February, 1872, on 8 February of that year Vander-Meulen was promoted to the rank of Commander with seniority of 29 December, 1871.[1]

He was promoted to the rank of Captain with seniority of 25 March, 1878.[2]

Vander-Meulen was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 23 June, 1893, vice Tracey,[3] following the death of Sir George Tryon. He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 26 October, 1899, vice Bowden-Smith.[4]

He was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 16 June, 1904.[5]
