Frederick Owen Pike

Vice-Admiral Frederick Owen Pike, C.M.G., D.S.O., Royal Navy, Retired (23 February, 1851 – 5 April, 1921) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Pike was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 2 July, 1875.[1]

Pike was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1889.[2]

Pije married Annie E. M. Pohlman on 27 December, 1893 at Melbourne.[3]

Pike was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December 1895.[4]

In September 1898, he assumed command of the second class protected cruiser Minerva.

He became Captain of the second class protected cruiser Gladiator in October 1900.

Pike was superseded as Captain-in-Charge of the North of Ireland Coast Guard District and retired due to age on 23 February, 1906. He was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on the Retired List on 18 September, 1906 and to Vice-Admiral on 10 February, 1911.[5]
