Vice-Admiral (retired) Frederick Charles Fisher (16 December, 1877 – 23 October, 1958) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Fisher was born in Newbury and gained seven months' time on passing out of Britannia.

Fisher was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in June, 1900.[1]

Fisher was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1912.[2]

Fisher was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1917.[3]

Post-War

Fisher was appointed in command of the light cruiser Danae on 20 April, 1920.[4]

Fisher was appointed in command of the battleship Marlborough in April, 1927. One of the battleship's propellers was damaged by a torpedo on 29 June 1927. Their Lordships informed Captain Fisher that a Court of Enquiry concluded that a dive to inspect the matter should have been conducted sooner than 14 July.[5]

Fisher was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 12 June, 1928 and was placed on the Retired List the following day in accordance with provisions of the Order in Council of 9 March, 1914.[6]

Fisher was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral (retired) on 4 January, 1933.[7]
