Commander (retired) Frank Gilbert Hackforth-Jones, (14 May, 1900 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of F. W. Hackforth-Jones, Esq., stockbroker.

Hackforth-Jones was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1921.

Hackforth-Jones was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 February, 1929.

Hackforth-Jones was placed on the Retired List at his own request upon his relief on 14 August, 1936. Denied a training opportunity, he was nonetheless earmarked for service in submarines in time of war or emergency. In 1939, he underwent a course in Naval Ordnance Inspection duties.

World War II

Hackforth-Jones served in shore appointments as an Assistant and eventually Chief Inspector of Naval Ordnance in London and Birminham.
