Vice-Admiral Francis Murray Austin ( – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Austin was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 May, 1902.[1]

Austin was gunnery officer of Temeraire until 1913.[Citation needed]

He served as captain of Leviathan from February to April 1918,[2] when he assumed command of the second class protected cruiser Astræa.[3]

Austin served as captain of Iron Duke from August 1927 until 1928, [4] then of the Benbow from May 1928 to 1929.[5]
