Lieutenant-Commander Francis Douglas-Watson, (3 June, 1896 – 7 April, 1941) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of a man employed by the "Nat. Tele. Co." as Superintendent of Scotland.

Douglas-Watson entered the Royal Navy with the May 1911[Fact Check] intake term at the Training Establishment. He passed out with sixty-one other midshipmen in April, 1913 ranked fifty-sixth in order of merit on his examinations.[1]

Douglas-Watson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 March, 1918.[2]

On 25 May 1925 he was loaned for two years to the Royal Australian Navy, his first appointment being in the Template:AU-Penguin.

Douglas-Watson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 March, 1926.[3]

Douglas-Watson was granted the acting rank of Commander on 21 April, 1939.[4]
