Vice-Admiral Ernest Kindersley Loring, C.B., (18 October, 1869 – 24 December, 1945) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Lieutenant on 18 November, 1892.

He was appointed in command of the old Triumph on 12 February, 1903.[1]

Loring was promoted to Commander on 31 December, 1903. On 21 July, 1904 he was appointed to Emerald for the Queenstown Flotilla for the Torpedo Boat Manoeuvres. He finally quit Triumph on 6 May, 1905.[2]

Loring was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1910.

He was appointed in command of the battleship Albion in July, 1915.[3]

On 1 February, 1916, he was appointed in command of the battleship Prince George.[4]

He was appointed in command of the battlecruiser Indomitable on 13 August, 1917.[5]

Rear-Admiral on 9 March, 1921.

Placed on Retired List on own request on 15 January, 1923.

Advanced to Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 8 July, 1926.
