Admiral Ernest Gillbe Barton, Royal Navy, Retired (20 October, 1861 – 29 January, 1938) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Barton was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1897.[1]

He was appointed in command of the Royal Oak on 15 July, 1905.[2]

He was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 15 July, 1915, vice Grant, and placed on the Retired List at his own request on 16 July.[3]
