Jump to navigationJump to searchCaptain (retired) Ernest Edward Parker, O.B.E., R.N. (16 January, 1875 – 4 July, 1952) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born on Dudley Road in Garston.
Parker was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1897.
Parker was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1909.
Reported sick on 2 August 1912 with albuminaria and neurasthenia. A series of re-surveys did not show sufficient improvement, and Parker was retired as unfit on 5 March, 1913.
Parker was brought back for service in a shore-based shipping capacity in Newcastle throughout the entire Great War. He reverted to the Retired List on 24 August, 1919 and was promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) on 11 November, 1919.
