Admiral (retired) Edward Hardinge, (19 May, 1830 – 2 May, 1894) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Hardinge was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 25 February, 1852.

Hardinge was promoted to the rank of Commander on 10 May, 1856.

Hardinge was promoted to the rank of Captain on 12 December, 1863.

In 1860, Hardinge was awarded the Royal Humane Society's Silver Medal for lifesaving at sea.[1]

Hardinge was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 30 January, 1879.

Hardinge was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on [illeg] 1885.

Hardinge was placed on the Retired List owing to non-service dated 9 June, 1888.[Fact Check]

Hardinge was promoted to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List dated 6 August, 18[illeg].
