Admiral Edmund Hyde Smith, C.B., Royal Navy, Retired (21 June, 1865 – 13 July, 1939) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Great War

Hyde Smith was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1904.[1]

On 29 June, 1915, Hyde Smith was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral, vice Bridson.[2] On 21 September, he was appointed Senior Officer at Sheerness in charge of Naval Establishments.[3] He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 2 November, 1919, vice Grant, and placed on the Retired List on 3 November.[4]
