Edmund Frederick Jeffreys

Admiral Edmund Frederick Jeffreys, C.V.O., Royal Navy (1 October, 1846 – 19 March, 1925) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

Jeffreys was appointed in command of the Hecla on 6 November, 1888.[1]

He was appointed in command of the battleship Hood on 1 June, 1893.[Citation needed]

On the occasion of the King's visit to Ireland Jeffreys was appointed a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) on 11 August, 1903.[2]

He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 1 September, 1904, vice Harris.[3]

Jeffreys was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 12 May, 1908, vice Bickford.[4] In accordance with the Order in Council of 8 December, 1903, he was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 18 May.[5]
