Douglas William O'Bryen Forsyth

Captain (retired) Douglas William O'Bryen Forsyth, C.B.E., R.N. (6 October, 1880 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Commander Forsyth was born in St. Helens.

Forsyth was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 September, 1902.

Forsyth was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1913.

On 20 March 1916, as Forsyth was wrestling at Haulbowline Hospital with cattarh, the Vice-Admiral noted that Forsyth's physique was not equal to the challenges of sloop work off the Irish Coast.

Forsyth was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Captain on 1 December, 1926.

World War II

Reverted to the Retired List on 26 April, 1946.
