Captain (retired) Douglas William O'Bryen Forsyth, C.B.E., R.N. (6 October, 1880 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Commander Forsyth was born in St. Helens.[1]

Forsyth was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 September, 1902.[2]

Forsyth was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1913.[3]

On 20 March 1916, as Forsyth was wrestling at Haulbowline Hospital with cattarh, the Vice-Admiral noted that Forsyth's physique was not equal to the challenges of sloop work off the Irish Coast.[4]

Forsyth was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Captain on 1 December, 1926.[5]

World War II

Reverted to the Retired List on 26 April, 1946.[6]
