Dorrance Kenyon Day (16 November, 1897 – 30 December, 1977) served in the United States Navy.

Life & Career

Dorrance Kenyon Day was born in Providence, Rhode Island on 16 November, 1897 and was appointed to the United States Naval Academy from his home state with his admission dated to 10 June, 1915.[1]

America's entry into the First World War curtailed Day's time at Annapolis as it did the rest of his termmates, and he was commissioned Ensign on 7 June, 1918.[2]

Day was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 3 June, 1922.[3]

Day was promoted to the rank of Commander on 1 August, 1939.[4]

Day was promoted to the temporary rank of Captain on 21 June, 1942.[5]

Day died in Pinellas, Florida on 30 December, 1977.
