Captain (retired) Donal Bernard O'Connell, C.B.E., R.N. (3 June, 1893 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Sir Morgan Rois O'Connell, Bart..
O'Connell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1916.
Post-War
O'Connell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 February, 1924.
O'Connell was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1929.
Placed on the Retired List at his own request on 17 January, 1936, O'Connell was promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) on 3 June, 1938.
World War II
Reverted 21 January, 1946.
After spending some time in Spain, on 14 January, 1952, O'Connell took up duties as Temporary Gallery Warden of the British Museum.
