Commander (emergency) Christopher Hornby, R.N. (12 June, 1880 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in India, the son of retired Colonel John F. Hornby.

Hornby was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1901.

The Admiralty accepted Hornby's resignation on 24 September, 1909.

Hornby was granted the rank of Flight Lieutenant for temporary service on 2 September, 1914.

In June, 1915, Hornby was granted the rank of Flight Commander for temporary service. He was placed on the Emergency List with the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 12 July, 1915, with seniority of 31 December, 1909.

Hornby was promoted to the rank of Commander (emergency) on November, 1918.
