Vice-Admiral SIR Charles William Rawson Royds, K.B.E., C.M.G., Royal Navy, Retired (1 February, 1876 – 5 January, 1931) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

On 16 October, 1897, Royds was confirmed in the rank of Sub-Lieutenant, dated 15 December, 1896.[1]

He was promoted to Captain on 31 December, 1914.

He was appointed command of Emperor of India on 30 June, 1915 (1918?).[2][Fact Check]

On the occasion of the King's birthday he was appointed an Additional Member of the Third Class, or Companion, of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George (C.M.G.) on 3 June, 1919.[3]

Royds was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 2 March, 1926, and placed on the Retired List at his own request on 3 March.[4]
