Lieutenant (retired) Charles Sanderson, R.N. (22 March, 1869 – 12 April, 1933) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Sanderson was promoted to the rank of Gunner on 4 April, 1900.

Sanderson was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 97 on 22 September, 1913.[1]

Sanderson was promoted to the rank of Chief Gunner on 4 April, 1915.

After being superseded in command of T.B. 97 on 23 March, 1917, Sanderson was appointed to the first class protected cruiser Ariadne on 28 May. He was fortunate to survive her loss to a torpedo from UC 65 on 26 July, 1917.

Sanderson was placed on the Retired List on account of age at the rank of Lieutenant on 12 August, 1922.
