Rear-Admiral SIR Charles Langdale Ottley, K.C.M.G., C.B., M.V.O., Royal Navy (8 February, 1858 – 24 September, 1932) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Early Life & Career
Ottley was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 8 December, 1879.[1]
Ottley was appointed Torpedo Lieutenant of the battleship Victoria, flag ship on the Mediterranean Station, on 14 November, 1889.[2]
Ottley was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1892.[3]
He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 1 January, 1899.[4]
On 15 June, 1908, Ottley was placed on the Retired List with permission to assume the rank of Rear-Admiral.[5]
Kathleen Margaret, his widow, died in Bath on 4 February, 1940 aged sixty-seven.[6]
