Commander (retired) Charles Francis George Thomas Hallaran, A.M., R.N. (10 June, 1897 – 21 March, 1941) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Hallaran was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 August, 1918.[1]

A temporary appointment in command of Tempest to commence 10 July, 1924 for the Reserve Fleet Manoeuvres of 1924 was cancelled, and he was instead sent to join Ramillies. After one month, he joined Resolution.[2][3]

Hallaran was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 August, 1926.[4]

In 1933, an accident to an A.B. of Cyclops was blamed on Lt. Cdr. Hallaran.[5]

Hallaran was promoted to the rank of Commander on 10 une, 1937.[6]

World War II

Employed in command of a minesweeping group at Dundee. Hallaran drowned in March, 1941 and was posthumously awarded the Albert Medal for gallantry in saving life at sea.[7]
