Vice-Admiral (retired) Cedric Swinton Holland, K.C.B., R.N. (13 October, 1889 – 11 May, 1950) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Alverstoke, the son of Vice-Admiral S. C. Holland.

Holland was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 August, 1911.

Holland was appointed to the destroyer Otter on 17 April, 1912.[1]

Post-War

Holland was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 August, 1919.

Holland was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1924.

Holland was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1932.

World War II

On 20 April, 1940, Holland was appointed in command of the aircraft carrier Ark Royal, and as Flag Captain to V/A Aircraft Carriers. This apparently ended on 25 May, 1941 with another appointment difficult to read.

Holland was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 6 February, 1942.

Holland was placed on the Retired List with the rank of Vice-Admiral on 1 June, 1945.
