Admiral Cecil Minet Staveley, C.M.G., (3 April, 1874 – 27 May, 1934) was an officer of the Royal Navy during the First World War.

Life & Career

The son of a General Sir C. Stavely, G.C.B..

Staveley was promoted to Captain on 31 December 1913.

He assumed command of the first class protected cruiser Endymion in January 1916, remaining with her until January 1918.

He was appointed in command of Conqueror on 23 November, 1920.[1]

He was made Captain of Valiant in April 1921.

As a flag officer, he was appointed in command of the First Battle Squadron in the Mediterranean on 7 September, 1925.[2]

He married the daughter of Frederick Sturdee, Margaret Adela Sturdee on 16 December, 1919.
