Captain Cecil Maxwell-Lefroy, C.M.G. (2 February, 1876 – 3 November, 1931) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Maxwell-Lefroy was the top-scoring candidate in competitive examinations for entrance to the training ship H.M.S. Britannia intake term of July, 1889, having obtained 1860 marks. This placed him comfortably ahead of William Northey, who scored 1,702 marks.[1]

Maxwell-Lefroy was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in August, 1895.

Maxwell-Lefroy was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1905.

Maxwell-Lefroy was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1912.

Maxwell-Lefroy was appointed in command of the battleship Swiftsure in April, 1914 and commanded her until some time in the middle of 1915.

He was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 16 May, 1922.[2]
