Rear-Admiral Cecil Burnaby Prickett, Royal Navy (4 December, 1882 – ?) was an officer of the Royal Navy during the First World War.

Life & Career

Prickett was made a Lieutenant on 30 June, 1904[1] and to Lieutenant-Commander on 30 June, 1912.[2]

He was appointed to the Pembroke Barracks in October of that .[3]

As Lieutenant-Commander he was appointed Gunnery Officer of New Zealand on 27 June, 1914 and was present at the Battle of Dogger Bank, before being appointed as Gunnery Officer of Princess Royal on 23, July 1915, serving there at the Battle of Jutland, where for his services he was promoted to Commander.

Prickett was promoted to Commander on 30 June, 1916.[4]

On 24 September, 1917 Prickett was appointed Gunnery Commander to Vice-Admiral Pakenham in Lion.[5]

He was appointed to the Department of the Director of Naval Equipment on 28 April, 1919.[6]

Loaned to the New Zealand government, he was appointed to the light cruiser Chatham as commander on 15 July, 1920.[7]

In May 1925, he was appointed in command of the light cruiser Curacoa.
