Eastman's Royal Naval Academy was a private preparatory school for boys wishing to apply for entrance to the Royal Navy through competitive examinations.

History

Founded in 1851 in St. George's Square, Portsea by Thomas Eastman, a retired naval instructor who had been five years at the Royal Navy's gunnery training school H.M.S. Excellent.

In September 1854 it moved to Eastern Parade, Southsea educated three cadets of the September, 1860 intake term at H.M.S. Britannia. In 1864, the school was located at Clarence-parade in Southampton. By 1874, the location was referred to as South Parade, but this may have actually been the same locatioon. By 1898 it had relocated to Winchester.
