Baldwin Wake Walker, Second Baronet

Vice-Admiral SIR Baldwin Wake Walker, Second Baronet, C.M.G., C.V.O. Royal Navy (24 September, 1846 – 28 June, 1905) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Walker was promoted to the rank of Captain on 4 February, 1886.[1]

Walker was appointed Captain of H.M.S. Vernon on 1 November, 1893.[2]

On 2 January, 1893, Walker was appointed a Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George (C.M.G.) for his services with the Newfoundland Fisher Patrol.[3]

Walker was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 21 March, 1900, vice Hastings.[4] He served as one of the three umpires for the 1901 naval manœuvres.[5] On 1 October of that year he hoisted his flag in the Sans Pareil, port guardship at Sheerness, as Second-in-Command of the Reserve Squadron.[6]

On the occasion of the King's visit to Gibraltar Walker was appointed a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) on 13 April, 1903.[7]

Walker was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 20 February, 1905, vice FitzGerald.[8]
