Captain (retired) Augustus Lempriere Knapton Knapton, R.N. (14 July, 1854 – 9 November, 1922) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Knapton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 14 August, 1878.

Knapton was appointed in command of the fishery protection vessel Jackal (formerly Woodcock), between 30 August, 1889 and 5 September, 1892. I do not know what year this ship launched.

Knapton was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1895.

Retired at his own request on 22 February, 1901.

Knapton was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1910.
