Commander (retired) Arthur William Tomlinson, R.N. (12 February, 1879 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Reverend A. Thomas was born in New Zealand.

Tomlinson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 July, 1899.

Tomlinson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 July, 1907.

There is a curious lapse or an amazing last appointment in his service record being as an Inspector of Steel on the Inspection Staff at Woolwich, dated 14 January, 1908. The next entry in his record, chronologically, indicates that Tomlinson was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Commander on 1 April, 1922.
