Admiral SIR Arthur Kipling Waistell, K.C.B., Royal Navy (30 March, 1873 – 26 October, 1953) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1910.[1]

On 7 December 1912, he was appointed to relieve Herbert William Richmond in command of the second class protected cruiser Vindictive.[2]

On 8 July, 1913, Waistell was appointed as captain of the depot ship Maidstone and for command of the Eighth Submarine Flotilla.[3]

He was serving as Captain of torpedo training school Vernon on 19 July, 1919.[4]

Great War

Waistell was appointed a Naval Aide-de-Camp to King George V on 26 November, 1920, vice FitzMaurice.[5]

Flag Rank

Waistell was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 1 July, 1921, vice Stanley.[6]

He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 6 August, 1926, vice Dent.[7]

On the occasion of the King's birthday he was appointed an Ordinary Member of the Second Class, or Knight Commander, in the Military Division of the Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) on 3 June, 1929.[8]

Waistell was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 23 May, 1930, vice Goodenough.[9]
