Captain (retired) Arthur Francis Gresley, (4 September, 1844 – 2 October, 1899) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Gresley started his naval career in Illustrious, but was moved into the new H.M.S. Britannia when she opened in January, 1859.

Gresley was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 11 September, 1866.

Gresley was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1881.

Retired on own request on 4 September 1891 (1894?).

Gresley was promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) on 31 December, 1896.
