Rear-Admiral Arthur Edward Dupuis, R.N., Retired (8 October, 1838 – 16 January, 1897) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Dupuis was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 19 May, 1859.
Dupuis was promoted to the rank of Commander on 4 April, 1871.
Dupuis was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1878.
Dupuis commanded the armoured cruiser Shannon in the Annual Manoeuvres of 1890. His ship acted as part of Fleet Number 1 which was itself playing the role of the Royal Navy fending off attacks on British trade routes.[1]
Retired on account of age on 8 October, 1893, Dupuis was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral (retired) on 1 January, 1894.
