Vice-Admiral (retired) Arthur Duncan Read, C.B., R.N. (23 April, 1889 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Born in Dublin.

Read was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 October, 1910.^[1]

Read was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 October, 1918.^[2]

Read was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1924.^[3]

Read was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1932.^[4]

Read was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 6 February, 1942.^[5]

Read was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Vice-Admiral on 1 June, 1945.^[6]

Reverted to the Retired List 4 May 1946.^[7]
