Arthur Caerlyon Stanford

Commander Arthur Caerlyon Stanford, D.S.C. (20 October, 1904 – 17 January, 1942) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Stanford was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 October, 1926.[1]

Stanford was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 October, 1934.[2]

Stanford was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1938.[3]

Commanded Matabele from 15 April, 1941 to his death on 17 January, 1942 when she was sunk near Murmansk by a U-boat.[4]
