Admiral Arthur Archibald Campbell Galloway, Royal Navy, Retired (30 June, 1855 – 12 February, 1918) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

In 1874, Galloway was awarded the Royal Humane Society's Bronze Medal.[1]

Galloway was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant from the Victoria and Albert with seniority of 18 August, 1876.[2]

Galloway was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1891.[3]

Galloway was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1898.[4]

He was appointed in command of the second class battleship Anson on 4 September, 1903.[5]

On 17 May, 1904, he was appointed in command of the battleship Revenge.[6]

From September 1905 to July 1906, Galloway was captain of Swiftsure.[7]

Galloway was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 16 December, 1907, vice O'Callaghan.[8]

Galloway was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 21 March, 1913, vice Egerton.[9] In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 8 December, 1903, he was placed on the Retired List, at his own request, on 4 June.[10]

Galloway twice offered his services, for work against submarines or in any capacity at all, in May 1915.

He was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 9 June, 1916.[11]
