Company founded by Arthur Joseph Hungerford Pollen on 31 December, 1907, [1] for the development and manufacture of fire-control equipment. Its formation was announced on 5 January, 1909 to the Board of Admiralty.

It was noted for building the Argo Clocks and other components of the Argo Aim Corrector system as well as gyro-stablised rangefinder mountings.
