Vice-Admiral Alister Francis Beal, C.B., C.M.G., D.S.O. (21 March, 1875 – 18 October, 1962) was an officer in the Royal Navy

Life & Career

Beal was commander of Princess Royal when she was commissioned at devonport on 14 November, 1912 under Captain Osmond de B. Brock.[1]

He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1915.

He was appointed in command of the light cruiser Weymouth in February, 1918.[2]

He was made Captain of light cruiser Chatham in July 1923[3] when she was loaned to the New Zealand Station, becoming Commodore Commanding the New Zealand Division in August 1923.[4]

He retired in 1926 and was advanced to Vice-Admiral on the retired list.
