Lieutenant Alistair Robert Farquhar Spottiswood (10 August, 1884 – 7 November, 1910) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The only son of Henry A. Farquhar-Spottiswood of Muiresq, Aberdeenshire. He was noted as having a "somewhat delicate physique."

Spottiswood was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1907.

After five years on the China Station including two years' service each in the gunboat Kinsha and the second class protected cruiser Astræa, Farquhar-Spottiswood committed suicide with a revolver in a first-class train while nearly home to Aberdeenshire.[1]
