Captain Frank Brandt (2 October, 1871 – 1 November 1914) was an officer of the Royal Navy during the First World War.

Life & Career

In 1903, it appears that Lieutenant (T) Brandt made helpful suggestions for a Graduated Sight Bar to better help torpedo ranges be judged.[1]

Commander Brandt was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 116 on 3 January, 1905, and also for Command of a Flotilla.[2]

In April, 1907, one source has it that he was placed in command of the second class protected cruiser Bonaventure.[3]

Brandt was promoted to Captain on 31 December, 1909.

He was appointed in command of the destroyer Eclipse on 24 February, 1914,[4] but in July 1914 was appointed in command of the armoured cruiser Monmouth,[5] and died when she sank during the Battle of Coronel.
